In Sickness and in Health(care)

For many immigrant families in Central Texas, it doesn't matter what health care policies Washington chooses to implement or take away. These families are accustomed to healthcare practices that leave them in a perpetual state of economic hardship. To navigate health problems, some families turn to traditional herbal remedies from their home countries; others travel across the border into Mexico if they have the privilege of resident status. Others accept their situation and take on as many jobs as is needed to pay for the costs -- however impossibly high they accumulate. This is an ongoing project.
